Hello World! Welcome to The Forge Notes. 

My name is Blake, and for about fourteen years now I've been working as a tech professional in a handful of industries. I've spent time as a systems maintainer, an integrator, a software engineer, and as a consultant on multiple projects. In all of that time, it's only been in the last two or three years that I've felt my skills were starting to REALLY flourish from that experience and I am inspired to do more outside of work.

I have thought hard about the mark I want to leave in this industry and in my personal life. What really drives me at the end of the day to work as hard as I do and what interests me the most about engineering and helping others. I believe that my mission is to help other engineers by creating tools and sharing knowledge that can make the average engineer's journey less frustrating.

That mission is summed up within my chosen handle: forgineer. I want to forge the best engineering tools that can provide the most help to myself and others in the day-to-day grind of trying to pump out quality code and work. This can even include helping to maintain open-source code or teaching if necessary.

Here is where I want to note the discoveries and ask questions. I hope that whoever reads these blogs will gain from whatever experience I can impart and learn alongside of me.
